Early in the morning, we departed from Delfin II under a light drizzle, eagerly anticipating our exploration of the lush forest along a blackwater creek known as Yanallpa. As we delved deep into the forest, a lively troop of saddleback tamarin monkeys greeted us; their playful antics were a delightful sight. Above, large flocks of great egrets soared gracefully, their white plumage standing out against the green canopy.
Following a hearty breakfast aboard Delfin II, we continued our journey upstream. The morning and a part of the afternoon were spent navigating the serene waters toward the Dorado River. Upon arrival, we eagerly deployed our kayaks, immersing ourselves in the tranquility of the surrounding wilderness. As the afternoon waned, we offered a late exploration via skiff, a perfect opportunity to witness the forest's transformation at sunset and delve into its nocturnal mysteries.
Our guests were captivated by the enchanting sights and sounds of the forest as dusk fell. The highlight was the spotting of white caimans, their eyes glinting in the fading light; it was a thrilling encounter with these majestic creatures of the night. Additionally, the keen eyes of our guests were rewarded with sightings of various nocturnal birds, their calls echoing through the trees. This magical evening under the stars left everyone with unforgettable memories and a deeper appreciation for the vibrant life that thrives in the Amazonian night.
