Snorkeling with California sea lions was such a delightful way to start the day! We were thrilled to see how active they were this morning! When they were not twirling around us under the water, they were leaping right out of the water!
Zodiac cruises also explored Los Islotes National Park. We observed both the sea lion haul-out and the various birdlife, including blue-footed boobies, brown pelicans, and magnificent frigatebirds soaring above us.
Back on board we enjoyed brunch and our naturalists’ talks about the desert and island ecology of Baja California Sur.
The evening included a visit to the city of La Paz and a fantastic cultural performance of dance and mariachi music. The sunset was extraordinary over the Gulf of California and a three-course dinner in a local restaurant enabled us to savor the authentic flavors of Mexico!
