We spent the night in the protected waters within the channel of Puerto Adolfo Lopez Mateos, where sunrise welcomed us to our final day of exploration at the Bahia Magdalena complex in Baja California Sur. We began our activities by boarding the local fishermen's pangas to try to see the first gray whales of this season for the last time. At the end of our visit to the mouth of the lagoon, we began our return journey through the Hull Canal.
Arriving near Puerto San Carlos, we crossed the dunes to reach the sand dollar beach. We enjoyed this last walk together, and then returned to National Geographic Sea Lion, where the Galley prepared a farewell cocktail hour on the Sun Deck.
