Our first exploration of the beautiful Kimberley Coast took us several miles up the lower reaches of the King George River in Zodiacs. We cruised between long ranges of glowing orange sandstone cliffs to the magnificent double waterfall at the head of the gorge. A month after the end of the rainy season, the falls still had quite a good flow. They thundered down on the east side with just enough light on the western drop that we could duck the Zodiacs in and give those who wanted one a nice refreshing shower.
