San Cristobal Island
We started with a remarkable and very unique hike early in the morning at Punta Pitt on San Cristobal Island.
We wet landed at a beautiful shiny green beach full of tiny bright crystals, it was like walking on stars. Our brave hikers put together two good groups of enthusiastic guests that walked up to the summit of steep tuff cones to find a magnificent view.
Once we reached the plateau, we discovered a nesting colony of the cutest red footed boobies you can imagine. Both the brown and the white red-footed boobies’ morphological types were seen pretty close to us. We had a delightful time taking pictures of them – especially the ones that were nesting on the bushes. As we climbed down the steep terrain we enjoyed the beach with its delightful waters! Our enthusiastic guests were delighted; they loved the hike and the opportunity to cool down at the beach.
The highlights of the afternoon were the great number of reef sharks we saw while snorkeling around Kicker Rock and the circumnavigation our ship made around this iconic geological formation.
It was the perfect ending for a magical week. So long friends!
