Guests aboard National Geographic Explorer woke up to a beautiful Antarctic morning and the majesty of the towering red-brown cliffs and the lava bomb laden beaches of Brown Bluff on the east coast of the Tabarin Peninsula. After a lovely breakfast, guests went ashore for their first continental landing of the trip. While on shore, they enjoyed the majestic beauty of the landscape and the incredible wildlife that calls Brown Bluff home.
After returning to the ship, National Geographic Explorer embarked on an intense whale watching mission while heading to its next destination in the Weddell Sea. The skillful work of the captain and the watchful eyes of everyone on board were rewarded with numerous encounters with humpbacks and killer whale pods.
