Kotor, Trebinje & Dubrovnik Post-Voyage Extension

Day 1 - Disembark / Dubrovnik, Croatia / Perast, Montenegro / Kotor
Disembark Sea Cloud in Dubrovnik, cross the border into Montenegro, and drive through coastal villages to the Strait of Verig en route to the beautiful Bay of Kotor—a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue to the town of Perast and embark a local boat to Our Lady of the Rocks, or Gospa od Skrpjela islet. Visit the charming island with its church and ethnographic collection before heading back to Perast for a short walk. Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant before heading towards the town of Kotor, a magnificent fortified old town encircled by ancient ramparts and massive mountains. Explore the city with a local guide before checking in to the charming Vardar Hotel in the city center. Dinner is in a local restaurant this evening. (L,D)
Day 2 - Cetinje / Kotor
After breakfast at the hotel drive to the royal town of Cetinje, which was once the capital of the kingdom of Montenegro, and visit the Museum of King Nikola to learn about the region’s rich history. Head to the village of Njegusi, known for its authentic smoked ham—Njegusi Prsut—and cheese. and visit the house where the ham is smoked—in which you’ll also have lunch. Later, drive to the Luštica peninsula for a visit to the olive groves and an olive oil tasting before heading towards Ribarsko Selo (“fishing village”) restaurant for a fresh fish dinner with Montenegro wines. Day 3 - Trebinje, Bosnia and Herzegovina / Dubrovnik, Croatia
This morning, drive to the town of Trebinje in Bosnia and Herzegovina. First, we’ll visit Hercegovačka Gračanica Monastery overlooking the town and Trebišnjica river. Explore the monastery before stopping in Trebinje city center to explore and visit the Ethnographic Museum. From Trebinje, we head to Tvrdoš Monastery to visit and taste the delicious wines for which the monastery is renowned. Back in Dubrovnik this afternoon, take a cable car to see the town from Mount Srđ. After checking in to Hotel Excelsior, continue visiting Dubrovnik’s Old Town before an evening on your own. (B,L)
Day 4 - Dubrovnik
Enjoy a morning visit to the city walls, followed by time at leisure for lunch. This afternoon, visit the village of Gruda where AR Atelier’s founder will tell you all about traditional silk production in Konavle. See the worms, the process of silk extraction, and the fine embroidery artwork produced. Continue to Čilipi for a traditional village home visit: meet chef Niko—and his family—who will prepare a traditional, regional dinner. (B,D)
Day 5 - Dubrovnik / U.S.
Transfer to the airport today for your flights home. (B)
