We just began our expedition in the vast Upper Amazon region aboard Delfin II. Although the rainforest is sunny and the level of the river is low, this is the rainforest so it could rain at any time!
This morning, we explored Yarapa Forest in search of the giant lily pads, and in the afternoon, we explored Clavero Lake. This area is home to many species of icons of the jungle, such as the three-toed sloth, wattled jacanas, and the black-collared hawk. This region also has a swamp which is home to many birds, such as black hawks, black-necked stilts, horned screamers, and many others.
