The morning dawned classically gray and misty as we left Stephens Passage and entered Tracy Arm. As we cruised over the terminal moraine, countless marbled murrelets and a humpback whale greeted us. As spectacular as the wildlife was, it was the towering rocky cliffs and waterfalls that made our jaws constantly drop with every corner turned.
We made it as far as we could amongst the icebergs and then dropped the Zodiacs for a closer inspection of South Sawyer Glacier. The weather took pity on us for our last day, and we even saw some sun as we snuck through the ice! Harbor seals watched from afar as we ogled the freshly exposed terrain.
The party continued as we left the glacier. We had two separate black bear sightings, and a beautiful glassy sunset over the mountains ended the day and the week.
