This morning we steamed into Tracy Arm, the north branch of Fords Terror Wilderness. After breakfast and a brief rain shower, some guests chose to paddle kayaks in the emerald-green waters of the fjord. Others took a Zodiac tour to explore the glacier and bountiful waterfalls deeper in the fjord.
After lunch, we all set off to explore South Sawyer Glacier. Ice conditions permitted us to see numerous harbor seals and pups as we marveled at the intensely blue ice. The thunderous sound of the glacier announced several epic calving events. Even at a mile’s distance, we all surfed the swell of glacial tsunamis as we returned to National Geographic Sea Lion.
