We had spent the night anchored in front of Taha’a, which is a neighboring island of Ra’iatea. As the sun began to rise, a lovely set of mountains, covered with clouds, could easily be seen from National Geographic Orion.
For the morning activities, our guest had the options of visiting vanilla plantation, a pearl farm and diving. Right after breakfast we all geared up and loaded the zodiac. A morning full of activities was waiting for us.
We returned back on board and we were received with a delicious barbecue lunch, prepared by our galley. Right after lunch, we were transferred by zodiac to Motu Mahaea. A “motu”ia a barrier island built up from a fringing reef. Here, a lot of water activities were offered to our guest. Kayaking, stand up paddle boards, snorkeling or just simply to relax at the beach.
It was a great way to conclude our expedition through the South Pacific. Delicious cocktails were offered while we were enchanted with the Tahitian singer Eto.
