South Plaza is a small Islet located on the eastern side of Santa Cruz Island. We explored the island by foot and by Zodiac. Here, we observed the yellow land iguana of the Galapagos and also swallow-tailed gulls, marine iguanas, a large colony of sea lions, and more!
The afternoon was also full of adventure as we had our first snorkeling outing in an area with lots of sea lions and plenty of reef fish. The highlight of the afternoon was not only the sea lion colony at the beach, but the unique Santa Fe land iguana, which was pale but gorgeous. Along the way we also observed Galapagos doves, finches, and mockingbirds.
