On the 4th of July, 1959 the Galapagos National Park was established! Since then, scientists from all over the world have worked together to preserve this unique archipelago. We visited the famous Giant Tortoise Breeding Center and our guests learned about the restoration program. We visited local farms to learn how their life was before tourism, and how Lindblad Expeditions pioneered the farm to table program.
We enjoyed a delicious meal at Rancho El Manzanillo, then we got to see the Santa Cruz giant tortoises in their natural environment. What a wonderful day!
