Today we went back to the age of the samurai. In the morning, we visited Matsue Castle, one of the very few original castles of feudal Japan that remains. We climbed the stairs to admire the view of Matsue and felt like a powerful daimyo, or lord of these lands.
In the afternoon, we continued our cultural explorations by taking a lovely, quiet walk around the fishing village of Mihonoseki to admire the splendor of the temple.
All of this beauty was almost overshadowed by the cuteness of dozens of children admiring National Geographic Resolution. As they say here in Japan….Kawaii!!!
