As we left the Balleny Islands far behind, we continued south toward the White Continent. As we had one more full day at sea before reaching Cape Adare, we filled our time with presentations given by our fantastic naturalist team. We began with Maya Santangelo, our undersea specialist, speaking about ‘The Ice Seals’. Naturalist Jamie Coleman and National Geographic Photographer Jasper Doest teamed up for their ‘Introduction to Expedition Photography’ and Naturalist Conor Ryan spoke about ‘Whales of the Ross Sea and West Antarctica’.
Today was also an incredible day to practice our seabird photography skills, as for most of the morning and afternoon we were surrounded by incredible snow petrels, stunning white birds which are a photographer’s dream!
