We arrived to the “town that fish built” while enjoying the perfect Alaskan morning. Hot coffee on the deck and a light fog over the trees where bald eagles talked back and forth. Our day was filled with bike tours, cultural hikes, muskeg exploring, Zodiac tours, and many enjoyed dock walking into town. Each adventure brought a memorable experience that was shared among the lunch and dinner tables. Petersburg always brings an opportunity to wander, explore, and see where the day takes you.
A cultural presentation was provided by Petersburg local and owner of Cedar Box, Will Ware. He spoke of traditions and everyday life of an Indigenous Alaskan. He shared how clans keep core values of their ancestors to pass on to the next generation and the revitalization of the cultures, languages, and way of life. Will’s stories and experiences were a wonderful way to wrap-up our time in Petersburg together.
