After a wonderful night of dancing and singing along to the world’s most traveled band “The Spice Boys,” we enjoyed a little sleep in. Then the most delicious brunch was served as we sailed into Deception Island. Landing in Pendulum Cove we took in the steaming beaches, the ruins of the base destroyed by the volcanic eruption, and a sleepy Weddell seal.
In the afternoon we took a stroll around the old whaling station and hiked up to Neptune’s Window, a beautiful geological cut in the wall of the caldera!
Enjoying unusually sunny and warm weather, we took in every detail of the landscape around us before continuing into the Drake Passage this evening.
