Early in the morning we came to explore a very narrow creek known as Pahuachiro. The animals are more active early in the morning and late in the afternoon, and we take benefit of the high-water season to enter into these shallow creeks. Then we walked along a trail farther inland, to feel the spirit of the jungle. We found all kinds of small animals like tarantulas, frogs, and other insects; we also learned about the importance of keeping the area pristine and very well conserved. In the afternoon we explored Nauta Creek, a unique place where many different creatures can be found, including owls, potoos, horned screamer birds, macaws, monkeys, caiman lizards, and iguanas. Our Friday was incredible!

Dorado Forest and Pacaya River
We had an absolutely beautiful morning, starting before breakfast for a skiff exploration followed by a forest walk to visit a small community made of a few families whose main activity is fishing. Our journey on skiffs was a very rewarding one! All of us photographing every creature we found there. As we explored the forest, we had some amazing sightings! The trees were full of surprises as there were troops of squirrel monkeys, to the delight of everyone! This forest is home to the charming toucan barbet and the elusive yellow-crowned parrot. In the afternoon we explored Pacaya River for more wildlife sightings. This place is amazing due to the abundance of wildlife. This part of the reserve is home to several types of monkeys, birds, caimans, and river dolphins!
