Today we started with a visit to North Seymour Island. Located on the north side of Baltra Island (officially known as South Seymour). This uplifted island is known for its great marine bird community. We encountered blue footed boobies, frigate birds, a swallow-tailed gull (the only nocturnal gull), and very arid vegetation. We had an amazing morning.
To continue the day we headed toward Rábida island. As we approached, we were struck by its unique colored sandy beach, a rich iron-oxide beach. Here we finally explored the underwater world of the Galapagos, and then we concluded the day with a relaxed walk along the beach and a saltwater lagoon that is home to a small flamboyance of flamingos.
