We had the amazing opportunity to drive to Lopez Mateos to see the beautiful gray whales. This specific spot was incredible in that it serves as a nursery for many gray whales. Cormorants, pelicans, and frigatebirds hovered overhead as we followed them into the open ocean.
Later we enjoyed some local cuisine, and then made our second adventure to the sea. This time we found some bottlenose dolphins, and after that we were able to follow a whale and her calf! We stayed with them for two hours, mesmerized by their grace and curiosity. The day ended with a moonrise as we sailed off into the night.
