Today was an amazing full day here in the Highlands of Scotland. Lord of the Glens was docked here in Craignure on the Isle of Mull. We took a panoramic coach to the southwestern end of Mull where we took a short ferry ride over to the Isle of Iona, the birthplace of Christianity in Scotland. Guests walked with a local guide to the abbey to learn about the rich history of the island. Guests also had the option to travel to the island of Staffa. This beautiful basalt columnar island is home to Fingal’s Cave.
After lunch, we made our journey to Duart Castle. This impressive castle is home to Clan Maclean and overlooks the Sound of Mull.
It was a great day here in the western part of the Highlands.
