Divided into three groups with three local guides, we slowly dispersed through the narrow, stair-stepped streets of the city of Hvar, the island that gives it its name. The various cafes begin to fill with people. The traditional slowness of life on the island is also appreciated by tourists. “You can sit for two hours chatting in front of a coffee” – says our guide – “everyone knows everyone here, and if you sit at a table alone, not five minutes go by before someone sits down with you. In Hvar, you are never alone”.
We think about our frenetic city lives, and we cannot help but fall in love with the tranquility and style of Hvar, even if our program is not exactly all-out relaxing. From the Cathedral Square to the Venetian Arsenal, from the small Municipal Theater to the Franciscan Monastery, and to make sure we don’t miss anything, we climb up to the fortress that overlooks the city. The view is truly breathtaking. Our superb ship is anchored in the bay. It awaits us calmly. She knows we'll be back because we all just can't get enough of Sea Cloud II.
