Today was the third full day of our expedition in Southeast Alaska. The day started with anticipation and excitement when we woke up in Haines, Alaska. Snow-covered mountaintops greeted us with the morning sun begging us to begin our day of exploration. The wildlife made its presence known as we explored the dramatic land and seascape. Today’s wildlife included moose, mountain goats, pigeon guillemots, and bald eagles. The wildlife took flight, trotted, or swam to places only they know.
Our day was so filled with activities on shore that bag lunches were provided. Slow river rafting was enjoyed, as well as more hiking and bike riding. Some passengers tested their flyfishing skills with a local outfitter. The sun and clear skies gave us a warm welcome while we enjoyed so many activities on shore this morning and afternoon. Today was a fine day to explore Southeast Alaska.
