Manuel Antonio National Park
This morning the Sea Voyager anchored off the coast of Manuel Antonio National Park which is one of the smallest protected areas in the Costa Rica national parks system. After breakfast we boarded the Zodiacs and landed on the beach before any visitors made their way into this natural gem, where the foam of gentle waves kisses the forest’s edge over and over again. Once on land we walked through the well kept paths along the beach into the “Sloth Valley” where we encountered white-throated capuchin monkeys, squirrel monkeys as well as the rare two-toed and three-toed sloths, who spend their lives looking at the world upside down. As other visitors started to appear on the trails, we had fulfilled our objective of the day and after swimming in the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean, we went back to the ship. There we had lunch and indulged on the unforgettable mudslide cookies which our pastry chef prepared for us.
After lunch the beauty of this area made us to head back to the park for a walk to the Catedral Point or swimming, while others chose to visit the town of Manuel Antonio to go for shopping or just a visit of the local cafes. Back on the ship we enjoyed cocktails at the lounge and got to know our traveling mates better.
