Magnifying hairs on a lupine leaf, its leaflets fingers forming a cup catching pools as like liquids mass. Jewels adorning a meadow, transparent drops or liquid silver. The precious fluid that revolves through living bodies or percolates between the grains of sand.
It rains in southeast Alaska. Today we played in the rain. We walked through the silent forest, elves among the giant centenarians of Sitka spruce. Their protective branches separated the falling raindrops into a fine moisturizing mist. We paddled our kayaks through the mixing seas of Kelp Bay and sat in awe at the base of a waterfall.
Water gives the gift of life and an endowment of pleasure.
