In the photo, guests aboard the Sea Bird watch as a pod of common dolphins swims up to the ship. The dolphins passed us as we cruised north between Isla San Jose and the Baja Peninsula (in the background).
We watched them approach us from nearly a mile away. The pod consisted of over one hundred individuals. They appeared to have chased down a school of fish and were taking turns zipping through it to feed. After they had their fill, they continued swimming by us, slowing down long enough to give us chance to see them close up before we continued on to Isla Santa Catalina.
