The long beach at Punta Dispensa, at the southern end of Isla EspirituSanto, is laden with fragments of creatures now gone. Beachcombersreconstructed lives from the bones, shells, and remains of a variety of sea creatures, including: sea turtles, a sperm whale, pelicans, moray eels, paper nautilus, triggerfish and pufferfish. Desertcombers discovered the remains of snakes and iguanas, and observed a live specimen of Espiritu Santo's endemic black jackrabbit.
