With poetic pause for reflection, we celebrated the last day of the millennium with the largest creature on the planet. A few miles out from the town of Santa Rosalita we discovered a blue whale. This phenomenal lifeform was rolling sideways and surfacing often, apparently feeding. On this New Year's Eve, one can't help but reflect on the diversity, beauty and mystery of life in the presence of such an extraordinary being. Best wishes to everyone for a healthy, happy new year.
