Floreana Island

Floreana, the island of mysteries and flamingoes, received us in the morning with a romantic mist and fair winds. We lowered all of the Zodiacs because almost every guest joined us in the early outing, to visit Post Office Bay, and to find blue-footed boobies and sea lions waking up from their sweet dreams.

The snorkeling around Champion islet was spectacular, with sea lions and colorful fish. We even saw barracudas chasing salemas and sardines, without caring at all about the snorkelers and the glass bottom boat in the area.

The afternoon was very pleasant. It was a bit overcast, and therefore pretty cool a nice thing to have here on the equator. After a wet landing at the green beach we took the trails to find greater flamingoes in a beautiful brackish water lagoon. Everyone enjoyed seeing this species which is considered to be the pinkest in a natural way. We came back on board with broad smiles, because our day in Floreana was a fair and nice day.
