Today we began a new voyage. Christmas is over, but we keep the spirit up for New Year's. It was a long first day. After receiving our guests at the airport, we crossed the island of Santa Cruz and had lunch in the lush green highlands. We found tortoises in the wild and at the Charles Darwin Station. It was an special way to start our journey in the Galapagos: seeing the contrast between the arid and the humid areas and also learning about the programs of the Galapagos National Park and the Charles Darwin Research Station.
In the afternoon our guests met the Polaris and her crew. In this picture you see the enthusiastic and professional people who work on board, who welcomed our guests aboard the Polaris today.
