Bartolome Island Another day in paradise!

This week has been terrific, and our guests have enjoyed every minute of the trip. Among our guests there are many scientists and they have learned a lot with us about these enchanted islands. More importantly, we have learned much from them!

The adventure began on the very first day of the voyage and each day has gotten better and better. Several of our guests would like to stay another week on board and have threatened to stow away. This morning, on the last day of our week, we visited the fantastic golden beach of Bartolome Island. This is a very young island and has spectacular volcanic vistas. At the end of the golden beach is the beautiful and prominent pinnacle rock that is the remains of an extinct volcano.

The snorkeling was spectacular, too; penguins darting after fish seemed to invite our guests to join them in the water. The eager snorkelers did not hesitate and soon had an experience of a lifetime, swimming and watching the penguins as they chased tiny silver fish across the bay.
