Bartolome and Santiago Islands

This was our first full day in paradise! We started it off with an early morning outing and a wonderful array of wildlife. Bartolome Island offers great volcanic landscapes but the snorkeling with the Galápagos penguins was definitely a glorious moment.

We then walked on the shores of the island, looking at the sand dunes full of sea turtle nests. We also observed white-tipped reef sharks, sea turtles, a ray, red sally light foot crabs, and the feeding frenzy of the blue footed boobies.

Quite a few of our guests snorkeled for the first time in their lives and got to master it, since Bartolome beach is not only calm, but the amount of marine species found here gives you a lot of encouragement to learn!

The Galápagos Penguins were very active during this morning; they were all swimming and swirling around snorkelers and swimmers on the beach. They really put up a show for us!

The afternoon outing at Puerto Egas was highlighted by the impressive presence of the Galápagos Hawks, many Darwin finches, mockingbirds, double furred sea lions, Galápagos sea lions, marine iguanas, yellow crowned night herons, plovers, sanderlins, sand pipers, herons, boobies, oyster catchers, yellow warblers and more!

Our guests really enjoyed the bird watching and the opportunity to share among friends one of the best afternoons in our lives!
