The Botanical Gardens of St. Vincent have an excellent series of exotic and local plants. Among them are members of the Brazil-nut family, like these flowers of the cannonball tree, Couroupita guianensis. The flowers are big, lovely colored and scented, and last only one day. Set on a series of very long pedicels on the lower part of the tree trunk, they are available every day of the year.
