Welcome aboard! The Caledonian Star is about to set sail for the Arctic. Edinburgh is a great place to start since many famous Arctic explorers began their expeditions to the high Arctic from Scotland. What could be more appropriate than beginning our voyage with Scottish bagpipes.
This voyage will first take us to the Northern Isles of Scotland, Orkney, Fair Isle and Shetland and later along the coast of Norway. As we sail north, we will slowly see the rich vegetation change along the route and by the time we arrive to the northern part of Spitsbergen, the flora is greatly reduced. Throughout the voyage we will see sea birds, dolphins, whales and learn about island culture. The question everyone is anxious to know is.how many Polar Bears will we encounter?
