National Geographic Sea Bird awoke to exceptional views of Holkham Bay and Endicott Arm while cruising towards the face of Dawes Glacier. Along the way, guests and staff spotted incredible bergy bits, harbor seals, and fascinating landscapes. Once the ship cruised as far up the arm as the ice allowed, guests embarked onto Zodiacs for a tour through the ice as we made our way toward the face of Dawes Glacier. Guests spotted mountain goats, more harbor seals, and incredible calving events.
In the afternoon, National Geographic Sea Bird traveled out of Endicott Arm and north, towards Haines. Just before departing Endicott Arm, we spotted two black bears eating sedges and grasses above the intertidal line. We were able to enjoy watching them from the ship for roughly thirty minutes before they departed into the woods.
