We awoke to a jaw dropping sunrise over Isla Santa Margarita before boarding local pangas to spend our morning having intimate encounters with gray whales. After seeing these incredible marine mammals breach, spy-hop, and even come close enough to touch, we returned to National Geographic Venture, pulled anchor, and left the Bahia Magdalena Bay Complex.
While cruising toward Cabo San Lucas, we enjoyed several presentations by our onboard naturalists and had the opportunity to watch some humpback whales partake in surface behavior.
