Today we woke up to the sound of Expedition Leader Andy’s voice, announcing dolphins alongside the ship and even a sighting of a Sei whale. We were on our third day crossing the North Pacific from the Aleutian Islands to Hokkaido, Japan. Even though we were at sea, we had a jam-packed day with presentations, firstly about feudal Japan to the end of the Meiji Restoration, given by Maria and Ezra. In the afternoon, Michael gave an iPhone Editing talk and our visiting cetacean scientist, Nicola Ransome, presented on humpback whales.
The day was capped off with a Japanese language lesson from Ezra in the Ice Lounge as National Geographic Resolution continued its course to Japan.
