Shortly before breakfast, the ship left Kyle of Lochalsh and moved out into the ocean, passing the islands of the Inner Hebrides. Out to sea we rounded Ardnamurchan Point, the most westerly point of mainland Scotland. Then it was on to the colorful town of Tobermory on the edge of the Isle of Mull.
We had time to wander the town before our afternoon excursions, a choice of a guided geology walk out towards the Tobermory Lighthouse or a local distillery tour. Some simply continued to explore Tobermory on their own. Then it was back on the ship to head towards our evening berth at Craignure.
After dinner, the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust joined us to share information about marine mammals found in the seas around Scotland.
