We woke for our final morning aboard National Geographic Venture en route to Aqua Verde. Along the way, however, we came upon an all-out frenzy of pelicans, whales, and dolphins feeding on what must have been a massive school of fish. Our crew was quick to deploy the hydrophone, allowing us to listen in on this one-of-a-kind phenomenon in the lounge later that evening.
We proceeded to make our way to the tempered shores of Aqua Verde, where we enjoyed one last afternoon over Zodiac cruises, tide-pooling, and excursions on land.
Sailing homeward and about to turn in, we saw to our amazement that the wake of our bow was gleaming with what may have been bioluminescent plankton, or (our guess) the residues of a remarkable journey in Baja California.
