We woke up at sunrise surrounded by the Aeolian Islands. Sea Cloud II set sails towards the most populated of the Aeolian, Lipari. At a distance, the silhouette of the citadel overlooking the bay is clearly visible. Sea Cloud II drops anchor, and the adventure begins.
After a short walk along the main street, we reach the bus that brings us to explore the island. We stop at a panoramic point to admire the Aeolian Archipelago and taste the most famous wine of Lipari, Malvasia. After that, we climbed up the citadel to visit the small archeological museum, incredibly rich with Greek artifacts.
We are still talking about the richness of such a small island when our Captain brings Sea Cloud II into open water overlooking Stromboli, the most active volcano of the Mediterranean. It is dark, and we are all looking at the characteristic profile of Stromboli when the “lighthouse of the Mediterranean” erupts. We are all amazed by the power of nature. What a beautiful day.
