Sylviane Jaume
Sylviane was born in Mexico City. Her interest in the knowledge of the sea, led her to earning a B.S. in Marine Biology in 2000 at the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Sur (UABCS). Since her undergraduate work, she has been involved in several research projects, which included working with many marine mammals, including blue, fin, humpback and sperm whales in the Sea of Cortes. She finished her Master’s degree in 2004, specializing in the feeding ecology of fin whales of the Sea of Cortes. During her graduate studies, she dedicated time to explain the importance of marine mammals in the Sea of Cortes to small children. She became a naturalist because she wants to combine her passion for this beautiful Sea and the wonderful whales with children and adults interested in these subjects.
