Mark Thompson

Some of Marks most fond memories of growing up in the Midwest are of camping trips where he would catch frogs, crawdads and turtles. His interest in the natural world continued and eventually would pull him from the clutches of an inevitable career where he would have to wear a ‘business’ suit. Not long after earning a degree in Marketing he moved to Washington where he worked and lived in the shadow of Mt St Helens. The landscape in the Northwest inspired him to seek adventure and created an addiction to experiencing things for the first time.

He has assisted with herpetology studies in Mt St Helens National Monument, was a research volunteer on the Andean Condor, Wild Boar, Waterfowl and Araucarian forests within the Lake District of Argentina, and also leads adventure trips throughout Yellowstone and Teton National Parks. Mark joined Lindblad in 2004 and has explored South East Alaska, Baja, Costa Rica/Panama, Galapagos and Antarctica. His itch for exploration and things natural is satisfied while traveling on the ships where each day brings the possibility of seeing something new.
