Christopher Baker
Travel writer and photographer Christopher P. Baker has been hailed by National Geographic as: “One of the world's leading authorities on Cuba travel and culture.” He has written and photographed six books about Cuba, including the best-selling Moon Cuba and National Geographic Traveler Cuba guidebooks, plus Mi Moto Fidel: Motorcycling Through Castro's Cuba and the coffee-table book Cuba Classics: A Celebration of Vintage American Automobiles.
He is also the author of more than 20 other books, including guides to Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, and Panama in the National Geographic Traveler series. A frequent contributor to such publications as National Geographic Traveler and Robb Report, he has won multiple awards, including the Lowell Thomas Award as ‘Travel Journalist of the Year.' Christopher has been profiled in USA Today and appears regularly on CNN, CCTV, NPR, and other radio and TV outlets.
He has led countless Cuba expeditions and photography tours and is also a keen adventure motorcyclist and moto-journalist and leads group motorcycle tours of Cuba. He is currently partnered with actor/director David Soul in restoring Ernest Hemingway’s recently rediscovered 1955 Chrysler New Yorker in Cuba. Christopher holds dual citizenship in the U.S. and the U.K. and earned multiple degrees in geography, Latin American studies, and education in England.
