Alyssa Stoller
Alyssa Stoller grew up on the West Coast of the United States and naturally developed a deep love for the ocean. To pursue her interests, she obtained a BS in Marine Environmental Science and MSc in Marine Systems and Policies.
She began her career in the field of whale research in 2014, where she studied humpback whales in the Cook Islands for four years. There, she made close friends with similar passions that resulted in a move from the South Pacific to Iceland in 2018. Currently, Alyssa co-directs a whale research and education charity that she co-founded in 2021. Whale Wise presently conducts projects in Iceland and the UK.
Along the way Alyssa has also worked as a Naturalist at an outdoor school in California, which provided her with a strong background in environmental education. Additionally, she has created short and long films about whale research, and recently developed a virtual reality education program that is used in Nordic schools and museums based on the Arctic.
